Coach Brandon Jenkins discusses having a growth mindset. He is pictured in his office.

You can be doing everything right and still feel restless.

Successful by every measure other people can see, good at what you do, trusted with more of it.

And underneath that, something feels off.

The learning and the challenge that used to pull you in just aren’t there the same way.

The tricky part is you often can’t name it.

You just feel a little off.
A little stuck, and no clean reason to point at.

For me it usually traces back to a value that isn’t getting fed.

I care about learning and developing.

When I land somewhere that has stopped happening, at work or even at home, I get restless before I understand why.

Then I start looking for that growth somewhere else, sometimes without realizing that’s what I’m doing.

So when the restlessness shows up, I’ve learned to treat it as a signal, not a mood.

Usually something I care about isn’t present where I am, and some part of me noticed it before my head caught up.
