Coach Brandon Jenkins speaks about the Golden Path fallacy. He is pictured in his office, wearing a Tier One baseball cap.

“𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀?”

When my boss asked why I wanted to be a commanding
officer one day, I answered:

“𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽.”

And the moment I said it, I knew that answer wasn’t
good enough.

That’s when it hit me:

I’d been following the 𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵.

I was doing what was expected, taking the next step,
without fully examining whether it aligned with what
mattered most to me.

And that lack of examination made it a 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗰𝘆.

That’s when I pivoted.

I got serious about revealing my purpose so that future
decisions would be intentional and flow from clarity.

That’s the work I now do with leaders through Blueprint coaching.

If you’re ready to escape the golden path fallacy,
I’d love to connect.
